We also run Kids Cupcake decorating parties, located in Rowville, Melbourne. Our mobile cupcake parties are also at a location that suits you.
How did you get started in your business?
BJ Cakes started as a hobby, when I had my second son Jessie, he is the J in BJ Cakes. B is for Billy my first son.
A home base business that out grew my kitchen, so we completely renovated our garage into a cake decorating studio also a cake decorating supplies shop. We fitted out another kitchen and enough room to run Kids Cupcake parties, as well as adult and kids cupcake and cake decorating courses.
What is the best thing about running your own business?
The best thing about having a business from home is the flexibility to always be close to my children and family and work the hours that suit my family.
What’s the most valuable piece of business advice you’ve ever received?
The most valuable business advice would be if you don’t give it ago, you will always be wondering what if I had of done that.. So just do it!!! My motto has always been Wish It, Dream it , Do it...
What inspires you the most?
My customers love the detail and great tasting cakes, the look on children’s faces when they see their birthday cakes is PRICELESS! So rewarding seeing their faces light up.
What would you say is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is juggling 100 things on a daily bases. I am not sure why my house has couches as I never sit on them!
What motivates you?
My family motivates me and tells me how talented I am with each cake I complete, they love seeing all my customers cakes from start to finish.
You suddenly have a free half hour during your work day. How would you spend it?
If I had some free hours in a day would usually be catching up on house work cleaning up after everyone.

3 words that describe me - Crazy , Funny, and a Clown.
How would your peers describe you in three words?
Friends would describe me as Kind, Caring and Funny.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Things on my bucket list:
1) To have a big cupcake shop in a shopping strip
2) Travel around Australia in our caravan
3) To have a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT
What do kids enjoy most about your cake decorating classes?
Kids enjoy creating their own cupcake designs, showing their parents and finally eating what they have created!
