Our Programme
Mathematics
------------------
Our General Mathematics programme helps students develop their mathematical thinking skills and expand their knowledge of mathematical concepts and formulae.
There are 6 levels for Primary Maths and each level offers ample practice on various routine and practical mathematical problems.
The topics selected for each level are based on the latest curriculum. There are examples of common word problems, followed by the step-by-step working to show the process of problem solving.
In addition to teaching problem solving strategies, we also introduce mental calculation strategies to show students how to calculate simple arithmetic more effectively and at a faster pace. Having both skills will ensure your child has the best chance in achieving academic success.
As Singapore is ranked 2nd in the world for its Maths Education, we use Singaporean Math workbooks in our classes. These workbooks develop a deeper understanding of Maths and closely resembles Australia’s curriculum. Using these workbooks alone, will give your child the edge in NAPLAN and Scholarship/Selective school entrance examinations.
English
----------
Our English programme takes a comprehensive approach to develop well rounded students in all aspects of English learning. The programme incorporates grammar, reading comprehension and effective writing. The variety of tasks keeps students motivated and develops a greater appreciation of the English language in its many genres and uses.
The programme is designed to develop reading, vocabulary-building, and critical-thinking skills. Our workbooks contains thematic units with a selection of engaging topics that motivate learners to relate the reading to their own experiences. Model writing examples within our workbooks, expose learners to a wide range of writing styles. Preview pages in every unit introduce new vocabulary and ask thought-provoking questions. There are also pre-reading activities that stimulate students’ interest in the unit theme. Vocabulary-building activities improve students’ ability to deal with unfamiliar words, and recycle key vocabulary with challenging exercises.
The textbooks we use are made in Australia for the Australian curriculum.
